The Trans-Siberian Express is the longest and most mysterious train journey in the world. From Moscow to Beijing, it crosses the breadth of Asia. After a stay a in Beijing and Xian,the journey continues through China to HongKong,completing a rail odyssey of over 7,000 miles from Europe to Pacific. Itinerary


Day 1 Moscow
Arrive at Moscow by flight, transfer to the Belgrade Hotel.(D)

Day 2 Moscow
A conducted tour includes Red Square,the Kremlin,St. Basil’s Cathedral and the Lenin Hills. In the evening transfer to Yaroslav station for the Trans-Siberian Express. (B/L/D)

Day 3 - 7 Trans- Siberian Express.
For the next five days the panorama of Russia gradually unfolds. At the height of the Urals,the train passes from Europe into Asia. Across Siberia are endless birch and pine forests,lakes and rolling prairie. The train climbs through the Primosky mountains and skirts the southern shores of Lake Baikal,the World’s deepest lake, containing one fifth of all the fresh water on earth. In Mongolia,the vast steppes are dotted with round white tents,herds of of sheep and camels,and horseman in a landscape unchanged since the days of Genghis Khan. Across the Gobi desert the rail way track runs as straight as a drawn line.At the Chinese border the boogies of our carriage are changed from wide to standard gauge.

Day 8. Beijing
En route to Beijing pass the world’s only steam locomotive factory at Datong before arriving in Beijing in the afternoon. Accomodation is at the Peace Hotel.

Day 9 , 10 & 11 Beijing
Three full days to explore on your own the sights of Beijing-Forbidden city,the Temple of Heaven,the Great Wall and the fabulous Summer Palace,to name a few.

Day 12 Train to Xian
Transfer to the railway statiopn and travel by overnight sleeper to Xian.

Day 13, 14 & 15 Xian
Transfer to Garden Hotel for 3 nights stay. Three days to explore the city at your own pace which is home to the famous Terracotta Army. Xian’s other attractions include the Great Mosque,buddhist pagodas and the Shaanxi Provincial Museum.

Day 16 Train to Guangzhou
Transfer to train station for a leisurely train journey passing through the heartlands of China,across the mighty Yangtze River,to the southern province of Guangdong.

Day 17 & 18 Guangzhou
Transfer to Baiyun Hotel for two nights. Formally known as Canton,Guangzhou is a bustling city astride the Pearl River. Cantoese cuisine is one of the city’s chief delights.

Day 19 & 20 Hong Kong
Two days in Hong Kong allow time to enjoy the vibrant life of this most sophisticated of Chinese cities. Stay at Wharney hotel or similar.

Day 21 Homeward flight.
